Welcome to the St. Lawrence Religious Education Program! We are excited about teaching the faith of Jesus Christ. The catechetical ministry of the Catholic Church has been nurtured and renewed in recent years with the publication of three important Church documents, namely the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the General Directory for Catechesis, and the National Directory for Catechesis. All of these documents remind us that families are the first teachers of their children in the faith and that we as catechists joyfully assist parents in leading their children to become disciples of Jesus Christ in the twenty-first century. It is our privilege to assist you, your child’s primary catechist, with their faith formation opertunities here at St. Lawrence. Our foundation are the four pillars of our faith. These are the Creed, Liturgy and the Sacraments, Morality, and Prayer are the foundation we use in forming us and our youth to grow and know Jesus Christ and his bride, the Catholic Church.
New Parishioners & Parents of Kindergarteners
We are accepting registrations for new students. Kindergarten to 5th grade classes are held on Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. and 6th to 8th grades classes are held Sunday evening from 6:15 – 7:45 p.m. in the school. If your child is receiving a Sacrament for the first time this year, you will need a Baptismal certificate if your child was not baptized at St. Lawrence. For tuition costs see registration form (it is linked below).
St. Lawrence usually prepares those in the second grade for Sacrament of Reconcilation, Sacrament of the Eucharist and High School freshman prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Our parish policy is that a young person must be participating in religious education or approved home school program or a Catholic school one full year prior to the year in which they receive that Sacrament.
Volunteers to assist with the program as catechists, aides, or other support personnel are always needed. If interested please call or email the Religious Education Office.
Registration forms can be download or pick up at the Parish Office.
Religious Education events can be linked to smartphones, tablets, or computers. To do so click on the calendar tab at the top and click on the event.
